Create a Chatbot Using Power Virtual Agents

1. Introduction

Power Virtual Agents enables businesses to deploy AI-powered chatbots without coding. These bots can handle FAQs, assist users, and automate interactions across multiple platforms like websites, Microsoft Teams, and mobile apps.

2. Interface Overview

The platform provides a centralized home screen for managing bots, accessing recent work, and exploring resources. It supports easy navigation to chatbot configuration and topic management.

3. Bot Functionality

Bots can be tailored with custom topics and trigger phrases to handle specific user queries. The built-in Test Canvas allows teams to preview and refine conversations before deploying.

4. Website Integration

Chatbots can be embedded on websites (external or internal, such as SharePoint) using a simple code snippet, allowing users to chat directly from web pages.

5. Power Apps Portal Integration

Bots can be added to specific pages or across all pages of a Power Apps Portal. Different bots can be assigned to different sections (e.g., HR or Finance), though only one bot is supported per page.

6. Microsoft Teams Deployment

Once published, chatbots can be:

  • Added to Teams channels

  • Shared internally via installation links

  • Published to the Teams app store under organizational listings

This enables easy access and interaction within the Microsoft Teams environment.
